2009 GrantsCulture and the ArtsAllied Arts Foundation – an outright grant to support the 2009 Allied Arts Annual Campaign. Creede Repertory Theatre, Inc. – a challenge grant for the Young Audience Outreach Tour which offers educational theatre and workshops to over 15,000 children in rural and underserved areas throughout Colorado and New Mexico. Curious Theatre Company – a challenge grant for the Curious New Voices program which provides young writers an opportunity to participate in instruction, development, workshops and master classes with professional playwrights. Duncan Little Theatre Incorporated – an outright grant for the musical production "Peter Pan" which requires extensive special effects and to assist with the production of "Noises Off!" Friends of the City of Las Vegas Museum & Rough Riders Memorial Collection – an outright grant to support "Las Vegas Alive", a hands-on learning project to teach children about local past lifestyles while developing skills in leadership, writing, public performance, speech and critical thinking. Oklahoma Centennial Commemoration Fund, Inc. – an outright grant to help purchase 300 copies of a book that will document the Oklahoma Centennial Commemoration and serve as the official pictorial and descriptive record of Centennial projects that occurred around the state. Oklahoma Children's Theatre – a challenge grant for a theatre enrichment program designed to bring cultural, creative and educational enrichment opportunities to children from "at risk" schools and communities. Oklahoma City Museum of Art – a challenge grant to fund the development and installation of new interactive programs for two exhibition stations to support three special exhibitions presented during the Museum's 2008/2009 season. Oklahoma Israel Exchange, Inc. – an outright grant to support the Young Artists Competition which will send the winner, a student enrolled in an institution of higher education on a concert tour of Israel and a gala concert in Oklahoma. Oklahoma Library Association – a challenge grant to help sponsor the Mildred Laughlin Festival of Books for Children for 3 festivals (2008, 2010, 2012), and to showcase quality books and encourage their use with children and teens. Oklahoma Museums Association – an outright grant for funding two regional seminars in April 2009 on "Writing a Business Plan for Museums", a technical bulletin to accompany the seminar and resources for the OMA lending library. Oklahoma Repertory Theatre Group Incorporated – an outright grant to provide financial support for the 2008 production of "The Miser", a resetting of Moliere's 16th century classic set in reconstruction-era New Orleans. Old Greer County Museum & Hall of Fame, Inc. – an outright grant to assist in the repair, weatherization and painting of all 164 windows in the Museum, which will increase the protection of the displays by keeping out the elements and help the aesthetic appearance of the large brick building. Perry County Historical Museum – an outright grant for the purchase of equipment and supplies for the Museum's programs to include laptop computers, computer tables, printers and games for all ages. Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts – a challenge grant to provide general operating support. The Santa Fe Desert Chorale – an outright grant for the Scholarship program for youth in the children's choirs and expansion of summer programs. Southwest Playhouse Fine Arts Center – an outright grant to assist in the renovation of the facility, to include replacing flooring and stage components that have been in place since 1974 and making the facility more compliant and accessible. Trustees of the Corcoran Gallery of Art – a challenge grant for funding general operating support to cover costs of activities that are critical to the institution's mission. EducationCenter for Nonprofits, Inc. – a challenge grant for the upgrade and improvement of CNR's website to better serve Oklahoma's nonprofit sector. Central Methodist University – a challenge grant for the completion of the interior conversion of the traditional Smiley Memorial Library to a technology-mediated learning and information resources center through new furnishings, space configuration and equipment. Council on Foundations – an outright grant to support the programs of Council on Foundations. IWF Leadership Foundation – an outright grant to support the Lillie Richardella Endowment Fund. Oklahoma City University – an outright grant for the Ann Hundley Hoover Endowed Chair in the Wanda L. Bass School of Music. KIPP Reach Academy Charter School, Inc. – an outright grant to support the Knowledge is Power program which allows under privileged students, grades 5-8, an opportunity for a quality education and thus better prepare them for college. Oklahoma Arts Institute – a challenge grant to provide scholarships for 10 public school educators attending the 2008 Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute. Oklahoma City Educate, Inc. – a challenge grant to build a 30,000 square foot facility to house Oklahoma City Educare. Oklahoma Historical Society – a challenge grant for the exhibition at the Oklahoma History Center entitled, "Field, Forest & Stream" The History of Oklahomans and the Outdoors". Oklahoma State University Foundation – a challenge grant for ISyTE, a new program from the Spears School of Business designed to address a critical shortage of skilled workers in the Information Systems field. Oklahoma State University Foundation – a challenge grant to help purchase equipment for the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences which will advance research that could have an impact on the cattle industry in Oklahoma and nationwide. Putnam City Public Schools Foundation – an outright grant to fund the READY! For Kindergarten program. Rio Grande Community Farms – a challenge grant to assist in the installation of a drip irrigation system using advanced filtration technology to clean surface (ditch) water in order to grow food for school children in Albuquerque Public Schools. Western Village Academy Inc. – a challenge grant to assist in the replacement of defective and outdated lighting to be replaced with energy-efficient and longer lasting fixtures and bulbs. Health ServicesArthritis Foundation, Eastern Oklahoma Chapter – a challenge grant for the Eastern Oklahoma Arthritis Project. Colorado Horse Rescue – an outright grant to purchase food and medicine for abused, abandoned, owner surrendered and impounded horses. Cox Healthcare Foundation – a challenge grant for the purchase of a "train the trainer" human patient simulator which will provide multi-state health care students and professionals with skills that utilize the latest technology to save lives in the safest and most cost-effective manner. Crawford Sebastian Community Development Council, Inc. – a challenge grant to help build a new dental clinic facility for low-income patients who have no access to dental care in Sebastian and Crawford counties. Oklahoma Blood Institute – an outright grant for the purchase of a new 1,000 kilowatt back-up generator. Oklahoma Fit Kids Coalition, Inc. – a challenge grant for their Program, which strives to reduce childhood obesity. Rooks County Healthcare Foundation – a challenge grant to provide Pre-Diabetic/Diabetic education and prevention programs. Thunderbird Clubhouse Board, Inc. – a challenge grant for the completion of a new 5,900 square foot Clubhouse facility. Human ServicesAssistance Dogs of the West – an outright grant for the Assistance Dogs Programs. Colorado Uplift – a challenge grant for the Colorado UpLift Program support services which provides full and part-time workers to teach and mentor at-risk kids. Community Area Resources Enterprise – a challenge grant to help the Transitional Housing Program support services which provide shelter to homeless men and case management, assistance with finding employment and help in moving into a home of their own. Metro Youth Development and Education Foundation – a challenge grant to help construct a 5,000 square-foot teaching/learning facility that will double the number of young people reached each year and facilitate the addition of mentoring and tutoring activities. Hope House Inc. – a challenge grant to assist Children's Bednights program for Hope House. Junior League of Oklahoma City, Inc. – a challenge grant to help build "The Zone", a children's multi-faceted library at ChildrenÃs Hospital. Little Dixie Community Action Agency, Inc. – a challenge grant for operating expenses for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program, which will help to continue the good work shown through CASA volunteers across the state. Meals on Wheels of Norman Inc. – an outright grant for the Weekend Meal Delivery Project which will provide 2,000 shelf-stable weekend meals for frail, senior and homebound clients. Oklahoma Water Resources Board – an outright grant to update the OWRB's Oklahoma Water Atlas, which is a compendium of state water resource information that focuses on the many benefits of state lakes. Pets for Life, Inc. – an outright grant for the Animal-Assisted Therapy programs. Project Transformation – an outright grant to assist the eight-week summer program for 15 children and help supplement the costs of food and art supplies as well as the events and personnel intended to enhance the children's educational, social and relational skills. The Salvation Army, Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex Command – an outright grant for youth educational programs, "After School Power Hour" and Summer Day Camp for low income youth in Garland and Waxahachie, Texas. Special Olympics Oklahoma, Inc. – an outright grant to assist computer upgrades to manage the larger specialized software packages utilized by Special Olympics Oklahoma. St. Joseph Apache Mission Restoration Project – an outright grant for funds to employ and provide job-skill training for young adults in a rural community where 36.2% of the people live below the poverty level. Welcome Home Warrior – an outright grant for workshops, retreats and support groups for veterans and their families. Womens Crisis Services of LeFlore County, Inc. – a challenge grant to help construct a new shelter to alleviate overcrowding, become handicap accessible and to be able to accept mothers with boys over the age of twelve, as well as better play areas and study spaces for the children. |
