Culture and the Arts

Allied Arts Foundation – an outright grant to support and advance the arts in Central Oklahoma for 2008.

Arts Live Theatre, Inc. – an outright grant to partially support the 2008-2009 production season, to provide 10-14 scholarships and for general organizational funding.

Atomic Heritage Foundation – an outright grant for the creation of an exhibit addressing the diverse and compelling stories of New Mexico and World War II.

Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center Inc. – a challenge grant for construction and renovation, design and development of new exhibits, and expansion of administrative and educational programs.

Children's Museum of Denver, Inc. – a challenge grant for general operating expenses for the Museum.

Edmond North Orchestra Boosters – an outright grant for the production of "Beauty and The Beast" and a performance at the Chicago Symphony Center.

Embudo Valley Library and Community Center – a challenge grant for the expansion and renovation of the buildings owned by Embudo Valley Library and Community Center.

Friends of Spanish Peaks Library District – an outright grant for the purchase of furniture, carpeting, wall coverings, fixtures, computers and audio visual equipment for the new library.

Friends of the Rockwall County Public Library – an outright grant to assist in funding the purchase of books, furniture, computers, copy machines, book shelving and other materials for the new library.

Libraries of Montrose County Foundation – a challenge grant to help fund construction of a new Naturita Library.

The Library at Cedar Creek Lake – an outright grant to increase, improve and strengthen the programs for children and youth through enhanced website, online homework, online tutoring and testing services that would prepare the youth for PSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE and other tests and examinations.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma City – a challenge grant to help restore The Plaza District through the purchase and renovation of three buildings.

Mark Twain Home Foundation – a challenge grant to help fund the preservation of the Becky Thatcher House and to develop new exhibits and programs to provide an educational experience for children that address Twain's experiences and literary works which promote social justice, compassion and peace.

Museum Development Associates – an outright grant to support collections care workshops in small, rural and community museums in New Mexico.

Muskogee Little Theatre, Inc. – a challenge grant to support the expansion of the Muskogee Little Theatre's current facility.

National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature – an outright grant to assist in underwriting arts education programming expenses such as the production of materials, art supplies and salary support.

National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum – a challenge grant to support the exhibit, "Craft in America-expanding Traditions", a national touring exhibition of exceptional craft objects.

Oklahoma Philharmonic Society, Inc. – a challenge grant for an endowment to support future collaborative performances of Ballet Oklahoma and Canterbury Choral Society with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra.

Oklahoma Community Orchestra, Inc. – an outright grant to support the young Artists Competition in February 2008 in order to expand the scope and size of the competition.

Perpetual Motion-Modern Dance Oklahoma, Inc. – an outright grant to pay for equipment and related costs in owning a dance studio, specifically a Non-Slip Marley Floor that is sprung to absorb shock and minimize the risk of injury.

Pioneer Store Museum – an outright grant to provide funds for the foundation stone work, the ADA ramp and fireplace, to repair/replace the chinking between the logs and to refurbish the interior and construct displays.

Price Tower Arts Center, Inc. – a challenge grant to support the arts education programming by collaborating with local educators and expanding the use of technology to reach a larger audience.

Rocky Mountain Wildlife Conservation Center – an outright grant to support the Wild Animal Education Program.

Santa Fe Children's Museum, Inc. – a challenge grant to assist in funding the Comprehensive Participatory Arts Program.

Scott Connections – an outright grant to help restore the 127 year old commissary building at the Scott Plantation Settlement to period condition for public viewing and convert the second floor to living quarters for a resident manager.

Sedan Area Foundation, Inc. – an outright grant to support the restoration of the Bradford Hotel as it was in 1904 with added convenience, such as elevator, wheel chair ramp, heat and air and private baths.

Seminole Nation Historical Society – an outright grant for the development of a living history and teaching garden as a part of the Seminole Nation Historical Society's on-going "Centennial Garden" renovation.

South City Open Studio & Gallery For Children, Inc. – an outright grant to help support the after-school programming at the Potter's Workshop.

Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Inc. – a challenge grant to help underwrite expenses for a performance of "Romeo and Juliet" at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

William Fremont Harn Gardens – an outright grant to support the historic preservation project, which will allow the museum archivist to protect and store artifacts and create a complete photo database of all the archives and collections.

Education

Celebrations Preschool, Inc. – a challenge grant for construction costs to renovate Celebrations, to include a Family Resource Room, an updated kitchen, more classrooms and a safe playground.

Council on Foundations – an outright grant to support the programs of the Foundation.

Coyle School Foundation, Inc. – an outright grant for the purchase and installation of new sidewalks around the school as well as purchase and installation of new benches to replace the older benches around the school.

Heritage Hall – an outright grant for the establishment of a fund for the performing and visual arts departments for program enrichment which will support initiatives such as artist-in-resident programs, dance instructors and guest musicians.

Harding Charter Preparatory High School – a challenge grant to support the school's band and orchestra programs, specifically for musical instruments, storage and sheet music.

IWF Leadership Foundation – an outright grant to support the Lillie Richardella Endowment Fund.

Oklahoma City University – a challenge grant to establish the Florence G. Birdwell Endowed Chair.

St. Joseph's Catholic School – an outright grant to help create a formal exercise program promoting physical fitness for low income children, hire a physical fitness instructor to lead/monitor the program and replace the current wood playground equipment with safer equipment.

Tulsa Air and Space Museum, Inc. – a challenge grant for educational programming of the Planetarium with the new full dome video beginning in December 2007.

The University of Oklahoma Foundation:

  • a challenge grant for the construction of new studios and office space for KGOU Radio, tripling the amount of space for the public radio service.
  • a challenge grant to help establish an Oklahoma Nursing Leadership Council at the OU College of Nursing, bringing together nursing educators from across the state.

Wilson Arts Inc. – a challenge grant to help build a dedicated drama classroom at Wilson School for the Arts Integration and to enhance the successful arts integration curriculum at the school.

Health Services

Bootheel Counseling Services, Inc. – a challenge grant to help provide accessible and affordable mental health services to children who are experiencing severe emotional disturbances and their families.

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation – a challenge grant to establish the Lou C. Kerr Endowed Chair in Biomedical Research.

The Carriage House Community Table – an outright grant to provide funds for emergency warming center services (overflow shelter during dangerous weather) for the winter 2008/2009.

Covenant Health System Foundation – a challenge grant to help purchase a ColpoScope designated for the program of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to be used in the examination and collection of forensic evidence from victims of sexual assault.

Dean A. McGee Eye Institute Endowment Fund – an outright grant to help construct a new building to expand clinical and research space.

Dentists for the Disabled and Elderly in Need of Treatment – an outright grant to help provide dental care to 75 new patients per month.

Family & Childrens Service Inc. – a challenge grant to support the Family Sexual Abuse Treatment Program.

Friends of OK-TF1 – an outright grant for the creation of a disaster canine search team for the state of Oklahoma, assigned as part of Oklahoma Task Force One, and to outfit and care for all current canines through the end of 2008.

Infant Crisis Services, Inc. – a challenge grant to provide funding for construction of a new facility.

Thunderbird Clubhouse Board, Inc. – a challenge grant to help fund the completion of a new 5,900 square foot Clubhouse facility.

Variety Health Center, Inc. – an outright grant to help increase the capacity to serve low income women and children by providing necessary laboratory tests.

Human Services

12 X 12, Inc. – an outright grant to support 12 X 12's Medically Supervised Detoxification, Residential Treatment, Transitional Living, Independent Living and Outpatient programs.

Cape Area Family Resource Center, Inc. – an outright grant to help provide support for a 6 week day camp in 2008 for underserved and at-risk children ages 6-14, of a low income neighborhood, including local field trips, daily lunch, crafts, drama, recreational sports and educational and health related activities.

City Care Inc. – an outright grant to help fund a Gang Prevention Specialist to rotate among all 21 Whiz Kids Tutoring/Mentoring sites throughout the metro instructing and educating at-risk youth, teachers, volunteers and parents on understanding and dealing with gangs in Oklahoma City.

Community Services Clearinghouse, Inc. – a challenge grant to assist in funding the Meals For Kids program in eastern Oklahoma public schools.

Daily Living Centers, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund construction of a new facility that will enable DLC to expand their services and increase the number of persons served.

FutureSelf – an outright grant to support the four FutureSelf programs for teen-aged children living in foster care, safe-houses and residential treatment centers and/or are referred by case workers, counselors, schools or are self-referred.

Hope Haven Industries, Inc. – an outright grant to assist in the purchase of a new copy machine to replace the outdated one that is beyond repair.

Hugo Improvement Partnership – a challenge grant to help purchase a monument size bronze, to be installed on Main Street, of a rancher and his wife tending to a new born calf called "Partnership' to celebrate the culture, history and heritage of Hugo, Colorado.

Keystone Volunteer Fire Company – a challenge grant to help purchase a new fire apparatus, which is a combination pumper/tanker with foam capabilities, carry more water and would replace the 1971 pumper currently in use.

National Academy of Public Administration – a challenge grant to establish the Ray Kline Endowed Intergovernmental Research Fund which will support the research and examination of emerging issues related to intergovernmental effectiveness and any research expenses associated with a major program.

Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation – a challenge grant to help fund the "Row Together" Youth Outreach Program that will make the sport of rowing accessible to local inner city schools.

The Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Revolution – an outright grant to help establish an endowment for State scholarships for Oklahoma students.

Oklahoma Water Resources Board – an outright grant to update the OWRB's Oklahoma Water Atlas, which is a compendium of state water resources information that focuses on the many benefits of state lakes.

The Parent Child Center of Tulsa – a challenge grant for general operating support.

Pawnee Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) – a challenge grant to support the recruitment and training programs of Pawnee County and Pawnee nation Volunteers and to develop a logic model and sustainability plan to transition Pawnee CASA into a program with broader community ownership and long term financial plan.

Shiloh Summer Camp Inc. – an outright grant to support a top-rate horsemanship program, in partnership with Equine Therapy Center, for campers that would never have the opportunity to ride a horse and to teach campers practical lessons in horsemanship and applicable lessons for life.

Susan's Place – an outright grant to help finance training of volunteers, medical information and research and make the program affordable to all persons.

Texas Council on Family Violence d/b/a National Domestic Violence Hotline – a challenge grant to support the 2007 launch of the National Teen Dating Violence Hotline program.
