Culture and the Arts

Allied Arts Foundation – an outright grant to support and advance the arts in Central Oklahoma for 2007.

Crested Butte Reel Fest, Inc. – an outright grant to help support general operating costs which include event marketing and attracting major names from the film industry to conduct workshops and programs for the community.

The Dairy Center for the Arts – an outright grant to support “Art Happens”, an arts education program for Boulder County.

Fine Arts Institute of Edmond – a challenge grant to sponsor and equip the Fine Arts Institute Performing Arts Department with the necessary equipment to make it high functioning.

Friends of Pioneer Memorial Library, Inc. – a challenge grant to help fund finish construction of the library basement (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, construction) for youth services and programs.

Georgia O’Keeffe Museum – a challenge grant to provide funding for public art exhibitions that will include recently acquired works by O’Keeffe that have never been publicly exhibited, education programs and public outreach, the activities of the museum’s Research Center and 10th anniversary events.

Idabel Public Library – an outright grant to help support the construction of a new Public Library building.

London Frontier Theatre Company – a challenge grant for general operating expenses.

National Atomic Museum Foundation – a challenge grant to help fund “Lil’Al’s Lab”, a new education/exhibit area being created for children in Kindergarten through 4th grade to ignite their interest in physics, science and math.

Oklahoma Humanities Council, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund additional programming needs associated with the 2007 Oklahoma Centennial.

Omniplex Science Museum – a challenge grant to provide funding to complete the “Science Tree House Adventure” Exhibit, an official Oklahoma Centennial Project, that will become a permanent exhibit on the main science floor.

Placitas Community Library – a challenge grant to help fund site preparation and construction of a public library in Placitas, New Mexico.

Smithsonian Institution – a challenge grant to support the public programming that will accompany the exhibition “Identity by Design: Tradition and Innovation in Native American Dresses”.

Summerstock Productions, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the royalties for the summer productions of “The King and I” and “West Side Story”.

Untitled (Art Space) – a challenge grant to help fund the development of Untitled’s Visiting Artist Program.

Upstream Theater – an outright grant to help fund the production and outreach for the US premiere of “The Concert/El Concierto” by Cuban playwright, Ulises Febles Rodriguez.

USS Oklahoma Memorial – an outright grant to help underwrite expenses for the construction and dedication of the USS Oklahoma Memorial in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on December 7, 2007.

The Washington Ballet – a challenge grant to help fund The Washington Ballet’s education and outreach programs located at The Town Hall Education Arts and Recreation Campus in Southeast Washington, D.C.

Education

Alamosa Education Foundation – an outright grant to help fund expenses for the Alamosa High School’s Show Choir to attend and participate in a concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Bart Conner Educational Programs, Inc. – an outright grant to provide travel expenses for the judges of the Junior Olympic National Championships for Men.

Boley Public School Foundation for Academic Excellence – an outright grant to help with operating expenses for the Boley Public School.

Cameron University Foundation, Inc. – a challenge grant to support any of the following: New Student Activities Complex; campus beautification; an Endowed Scholars Scholarship; to create an Endowed Lectureship or increase the existing KFI Lectureship.

Celebrations Preschool, Inc. – a challenge grant to help with construction renovation costs for Celebrations, to include a Family Resource Room, an updated kitchen, more classrooms and a safe playground.

Children’s Prison Arts Project – an outright grant to support the project, “My Neighborhood and Me”, a program of year-round theater and visual arts education workshops to encourage constructive self-expression and positive self-images in incarcerated youth in Texas and New Mexico.

Consortium of Oklahoma Geographers, Inc. – an outright grant to help underwrite registration fees for Oklahoma teachers to attend the National Council for Geographic Education Annual Conference in Oklahoma City October 2007.

Creative Oklahoma, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the initial program activity of the Oklahoma Creativity Project.

The DaVinci Institute – an outright grant to fund the 2006-2007 Premier Speakers Program, part of the DaVinci Institute’s 2006-2007 Annual Program plan and a key component in the Institute’s expansion, as well as its goal of promoting and facilitating transformative learning and innovation.

Enid Arts and Science Foundation – a challenge grant to help provide visits for at-risk children to the museum with a hands-on art or science class per visit and the funds would pay for 1,000 children, supplies, a certified art or science teacher and a snack for each student.

Holdenville 4-H – an outright grant to assist with the purchase of livestock equipment for 4-H exhibitors.

IWF Leadership Foundation – an outright grant to underwrite the Leadership Foundation Fellows training at Harvard University’’ Business School.

Oklahoma Academy for State Goals – an outright grant to assist with the Town Hall Conference, the background resource document, additional participant materials and scholarships for those who are not able to cover the registration/lodging fees.

Oklahoma City Astronomy Club – a challenge grant to help with the construction of an astronomical observatory and classroom building.

Oklahoma City University – a challenge grant to establish the Florence G. Birdwell Endowed Chair.

Oklahoma Heritage Association – an outright grant to purchase one hundred twenty copies of “Mr. Water”, a book on the life of Robert S. Kerr, Jr. by co-authors, Robert Burke and Ronn Cupp for distribution to statewide libraries.

Oklahoma State University Foundation – an outright grant to deliver an annual leadership program oriented toward students and women in the State of Oklahoma.

Pikes Peak Community College Foundation, Inc. – a challenge grant to help finance the “Information Commons”, an initiative to improve and upgrade services and equipment in the two libraries for use by all students, staff and faculty.

Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma – a challenge grant to help provide operating funds for Planned Parenthood of Central Oklahoma.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation, Inc. – an outright grant to provide funding for the initiation of four scheduled events, which will utilize Foundation owned property in Colony, OK, and perpetuate field training for students in all departments.

Talking Tapes-Textbooks on Tape, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the purchase of equipment for the production and use of encrypted audio books, including six digital recording units and 30 digital players for educational at-risk students attending schools located in lower socio-economic communities.

Truman State University Foundation – a challenge grant to help fund the purchase of equipment for the Fontaine C. Piper Movement Analysis Lab.

United Methodist Higher Education Foundation – an outright grant to help fund the event on September 20, 2007 honoring Bishop and Mrs. Robert E. Hayes, Jr. to provide scholarships for Methodist students in Oklahoma.

The University of Oklahoma Foundation:

  • an outright grant to pay for travel and other annual expenses for one OU intern to participate in the South African winners’ US summer visit in the University-IYL Project.
  • an outright grant to provide underwriting support for the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History’s Centennial exhibition, “Collecting Oklahoma”, providing visitors with a view of Oklahoma’s natural and cultural history over the past 100 years.

Youth at Heart – an outright grant to assist the After-School Programs by providing additional arts and craft supplies and table games.

Health Services

Dean A. McGee Institute Endowment Fund – an outright grant to help construct a new building to expand clinical and research space.

The Next Step Network – an outright grant to help fund the construction of a 16-bed male/female halfway house.

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation: - a challenge grant to help establish the Lou C. Kerr Endowed Chair in Biomedical Research.

Presbyterian Manors, Inc. - an outright grant to provide funding to increase the opportunities for both residents and members of the community to engage in the production and appreciation of the arts.

Human Services

Breakthrough Club of Sedgwick County – a challenge grant to help fund the renovation of the youth area in the new Breakthrough facility and to help the Crossroads Clubhouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Center for Nonprofits, Inc. – a challenge grant to help fund the purchase of new computer equipment for both Oklahoma City and Tulsa locations.

The Cherokee National Historical Society, Inc. – an outright grant to support the Cherokee Humanities Program, namely to pay for supplies, materials and instructors’ fees.

Cherokee Strip Booster Club, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the Oklahoma Centennial Commission approved Symphony entitled “Oklahoma...Where the West Remains”.

The Christmas Connection – an outright grant to assist in funding the School Connections program, which provides school supplies and school uniforms for low-income students.

Citizens Caring for Children – an outright grant to help fund the purchase of books for the Resource Center Library that focus on improving self image and education and for back to school items that will encourage success in school in order to help break the cycle of abuse and neglect.

Criminal Justice and Mercy Ministries – a challenge grant to help purchase vehicles for transporting inmates to programs and funerals, for transporting residents of Exodus House to court, picking up children to address other required issues and for staff transportation to conduct business across the state.

Daily Living Centers, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund construction of a new facility that will enable DLC to expand their services and increase the number of persons served.

Davis Kids Association – an outright grant to help fund the purchase of 2 sets of bleachers for each of the 4 fields at the sports complex.

The Education and Employment Ministry, Inc. – a challenge grant to provide funds for general operating expenses for TEEM.

Food Depot – an outright grant to support the Food 4 Kids Program that provides nutritional food in non-identifying backpacks to hungry children in Santa Fe Public Schools elementary schools with high rates of participation in free or reduced price lunches, at no cost to the schools.

FutureSelf – an outright grant to help support the four FutureSelf programs for teen-aged children living in foster care, safe-houses and residential treatment centers and/or are referred by case workers, counselors, schools or are self-referred.

Greener Pastures Equine Rescue – an outright grant to provide funding for three 100 foot, 3 sided, roofed horses’ loafing sheds for horses’ weather protection and to keep feed and hay dry.

Heifer Project International – a challenge grant to help support the construction of the Education building on the new Heifer International campus, which will provide a unique opportunity for over 50,000 visitors annually to understand the causes and sustainable solutions of global hunger.

Kappa Kappa Psi – a challenge grant to provide funding for the purchase, renovation and landscape of one railroad caboose to serve as archives and a research facility at Historic Stillwater Station.

Leadership Tulsa, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the Youth Leadership Tulsa program to allow all the students to participate at no cost to them and ensure that students from all economic backgrounds will be able to enroll in the program.

McAlester Scottish Rite Valley Orient of Oklahoma – a challenge grant to help fund the repair and refurbishing of #1, #3 and #3A, as a part of a total roof repair project, in order to preserve, protect and allow restoration of many historically significant items, to include stage backdrops by Tom Moses and a pipe organ.

Phillips County Development & Community Foundation – an outright grant to help with the purchase of a new copier for the Kirwin City library.

Special Kids-Special Families, Inc. – an outright grant to help provide Gymnastics, Therapeutic Horse Back Riding and a Swimming Program for developmentally disabled kids.

Specialized Alternatives for Families & Youth of Oklahoma, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund recruitment and training of foster parents that will serve abused and neglected youth.

SpiritHorse Therapeutic Riding Center – an outright grant to provide funding for the “Autism Treatment and Research Project” which would provide treatment for one year for 135 children with autism and 35 children with autism on the waiting list.

Strang Senior Citizens, Inc. – an outright grant to help fund the preparation costs to ready the Strang Senior Citizens Community Center for all emergencies and to aid the Center in setting up an Emergency American Red Cross Shelter.

Therapetics, Inc. – a challenge grant to help fund the cost of preparing one dog for service including two years of training, veterinarian services, supplies, equipment and other services.

Willow Springs Boys Ranch, Inc. – an outright grant to provide scholarships for 3 young men in the program for one year.

World Neighbors, Inc. – a challenge grant to support the implementation phase of the World Neighbors in the Classroom program and curriculum, which seeks to make visible the connection between geography and people, between our place in Oklahoma and the potential to help others worldwide.

Youth Services for Oklahoma County, Inc. – an outright grant to provide funding for an Endowment Fund for direct financial assistance to students in the Supporting Kids in Independent Living (SKIL) program.
